It's a meritocracy of individuals.

http://www.apache.org/foundation/marks/responsibility.html#independent

recognizes only per-project thanks/support pages

We need to widen this to the static site as well.

The current http://incubator.apache.org/any23/ has the logos of those organisations.

I can't find a TLP with company logos on their front page or even company names. Nor OpenOffice for that matter.

I was basically trying to ask whether you are happy for the Any23 service to
remain on any23.org, however run on Apache infrastructure.

Thanks, this helps.

From a technical point of view this makes sense and I'd like to see it happen.

+1!

There's a bit of branding on any23.org from the various contributors to the
original project. Would that have to go? In that case I'd need to check back
with them.

I'm CC'ing trademarks@ to keep them in the loop and I certainly don't speak for
them, but
my opinion as an ASF member here and the project's mentor is that we should be
able
to attribute the branding on the any23.org site by including the original
contributors to the projects
and their logos too. That's always nice to have a bit of goodwill there. Shane,
others on trademarks@, would you
agree?

Like I would see the page including a:

Welcome to Apache^TM Any23 blah blah....

Then:

Thanks to the original sponsors of the Any23 project:

(logos of those sponsors)

I'm cc'ing Michele – he might be able to speak for FBK and DERI regarding the
logos.

There's also the old project website at http://developers.any23.org/ . What do
you think should happen to that?

Would you be willing to redirect that or allow us to host that at Apache too?

Thank you for considering and commenting on it.

Thanks!

Cheers,
Chris

We have opened a ticket here [1] to track the progress and Daniel
(infrastructure team) asked whether a new DNS would need to be set up... maybe
something along the lines of service.any23.apache.org. This may be unnecessary
depending upon what your feelings are with any23.org?

Thanks for getting back to us on this one.

Hi Lewis,

Thanks for getting in touch. It's great to see any23 make its process through
the incubator process.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking though. A bit more detail would be
helpful. What exactly is the issue with the current situation around the
any23.org domain?

Best,
Richard

Good Afternoon Richard,

We are in the process of sorting out an Any23 webservice that doesn't site the
old Googlecode site, and which adheres to ASF trademark policy etc.

One of the issues is whether or not we would (be able to) retain the any23.org
DNS.

I wonder if you can comment here?

Thank you in advance.

Lewis
