A suggestion might be working in one field but improving the quality of
different language pairs, e.g. morphological and lexical disambiguation. A
student working in this field may concentrate in a piece of Apertium (+
maybe related tools, as CG) and work in several language pairs, instead of
the different kind specialisation we usually do: one pair, all the Apertium
levels. As Apertium translators are increasingly adding new processes and
tools in the pipe, it seems that this kind of specialisation can be more
and more desirable.
