Hi All

I extend my gratitude for everyone's responses. Please allow me to briefly address your questions:

1. I want to clarify that my pseudonym, Will, is not my real name due to my unique circumstances. Nevertheless, I assure you that I am indeed an APNIC Member, and my statements are authentic. I have no affiliation with NRS. If I were involved in their actions, there would be no need for anonymity. NRS aims to control APNIC, while my goal is to save Member funds ? our objectives are fundamentally different.

2. Despite recurrent discussions on the issues I raised in previous APNIC meetings, we have not witnessed significant improvements.

3. Regarding your mention of transparency in financial reporting, allow me to share some figures from the APNIC 2022 audit report: "Receipts from customers were $30,277,150, and payments to suppliers and employees were $29,522,394." Though lacking accounting expertise, it appears our membership fees primarily fund APNIC staff salaries.

This highlights a key issue: APNIC exhibits significant redundancy in its human resources. For instance, the "PEOPLE & PRODUCTIVITY" department, essentially comprising HR and Office Admin teams, has 13 staff members in a company with just over 100 (currently 137 according to Chris) ? an apparently excessive number. I find it challenging to comprehend why APNIC's staff requires so many HR and Admin personnel and what are these people doing every day? In contrast to my own company, although we don't have as many employees, we operate without any HR or Admin positions because we earn our money through competition and cost savings, all staff have to contribute, unlike APNIC, where funds come more easily."

Another instance is the PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT department, with an extensive list despite developing products used by only a few members. Utilizing all members' funds for products required by a minority seems unjust to me.

As mentioned previously, among all APNIC's 100+ staff, 10 hold "Director" titles, 24 are "Managers," and 13 are "Leads." If this were a company competing and striving in the market for survival, is this employee structure normal? The numbers speak for themselves, no excuses.

4. Regarding the expensive travel expenses, I understand Australia's high costs, prompting my question: Are these travels truly necessary? Can they be replaced by online meetings? Despite a significant reduction in 2020's travel expenses, I haven't noticed a substantial impact on APNIC's services. This reinforces my point ? are these travels truly necessary?

5. I'm aware APNIC manages a large number of members, but from my observation, the majority of members only interact with APNIC once a year ? when paying the membership fee. Managing these members may not require as many personnel as imagined.

6. Lastly, I want to emphasize that I don't disapprove of everything APNIC does. We genuinely appreciate the efforts of certain departments, such as Training team, Member Service team, Infrastructure Services team, etc. Their work is indeed valuable to the community.

7. In conclusion, as Chris rightly stated, "Running a regional internet registry costs money, and money does not grow on trees." What I want to add is: Money comes from the members.

I am simply voicing the concerns of the silent majority members: Please cherish the membership fees we contribute.

Best regards,
