These prices are almost certainly pre-1992, or Apple II users were
being ripped off. A quick search of usenet reveals that a 4 MB

a lot more than I recalled for the 16 MB of RAM on my 486, over
$700 Canadian).
I figured everyone would assume pre-1992. :) This was just the 1st Apple
II magazine I happened to have close to my computer.
I'd have to dig out my 1977 issue of Byte if you want to see silly
RAM prices. If my (very foggy) memory serves me correctly, they
were offering 4 or 16 kB RAM boards for about $400.
At those prices, Bill's card is, since he's using more modern RAM, a
bargain. :)
I hope you're not being serious. An Apple IIgs currently has nearly
no market value, and I hardly see anyone saying that it should be
worth more because of 1990 prices.
Yes, I'm being serious. Ask an antique car buff how much he'd pay for a
vintage hubcap for their car, even tho the actual worth of the hubcap
isn't much, and newer ones would fit.
