I should like to insert my comments too.
You cannot read any disk partition > 32 MB with DOS 3.30.

According to a manual I have for MS-DOS 3.31, this version likewise is
not capapble of reading a drive > 32 MB. I don't have a manual for
my COMPAQ DOS 3.31. I do know that COMPAQ DOS 3.31 is capapble of reading
a 100 MB Iomega Zip Drive. I know because I've done it. I don't know how
large a partition COMPAQ DOS 3.31 will recognize on a hard drive.

MS-DOS 4.01 requires more DOS memory than MS-DOS 5.00!

My external Iomega disk drive is for a parallel port. If you have a parallel
port Iomega Zip drive of recent manufacture, you may find that you will need
to use the drivers for one of the older Iomega Zip drives if you want to
access it with a 286 running COMPAQ DOS 3.31. This was the case with me.
Please note: I have conducted numerous experiments with many different DOS
versions, and without success in attempting to get an 8088 to recognize an
Iomega ZIP drive. In the case of the older Iomega ZIP drives, the
manufacturer does state that a 286 is a minimum system requirement. So I'm
not at all surprised that my 8088's would not recognize the ZIP drive;
however, I thought I'd try it anyway.
