This might be a concern if there was only one tmp.
I just did a little experiment. <G>
I popped up compose by selecting a name from my hotlist.<bernie@yadayadayada>
I hit "ESC and "H" to get back to hotlist and used shiftENTER to pick up a
new name for CC. <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> "ESC" again and I'm back in compose
and your mail address is still there. I drop Michaels' address with cntrlV
and then I entered "This area is in use !!" in the message area.
I hit "ESC" and then F4 to edit the compose window HTML.
I changed the number of rows in textarea to 30 so I could see that I had
done something, and hit F2 to save the edit.
This took me back to compose where I now had 30 rows of window but my MESSAGE
was GONE ! and so was the CC field. !! BUT the TO: field is still OK !!!
I "ESCd" to a previous screen (Hotlist) and hit altQ where I got Michaels'
built in "Not everything cool must be slow and unstable" message.
I hit "ESC" + F4 and edited the HTML down to 20 rows and hit F2 to save it.
I now had Michaels' message in a smaller window. I deleted this (you can see
I have not been here before) and wrote "Testing this area" in the window and
saved it (F2). Automatically taken back to Hotlist.
OK. Here I altE and search for *.tmp.
In CLIP.tmp I have Michael's address. (Was the CC line)
In TEXTarea.tmp I have "This area is in use !!" (My message !!!)
In QUICKPAD.txt I now have: "Testing this area."
When I exit back to Arachne, the ONLY way to get back to the original
message compose window is via the History list as "ESC" didn't seem to go
there. This works fine, except only the TO: field is filled in.
Both the message and the CC fields are blank. I understand that the TO:
currently fills in from the history list, so there is no magic there. <G>
The edit window must use some other temporary area but apparantly not disk.
So, you can see, there is no storage problem. The files are already assigned
for separate uses. In any situation where more than one function happens to
use TEXTAREA.tmp, then it will be obvious to the user that the space is in
use if the appropriate window is automatically loaded with the curent file
contents and that file should simply be cleared when you hit F2 to store it
elsewhere. It DOES seem that we will need another file to store the CC and
subject and attachment field contents tho - to do it right.
In the current version of Arachne, hitting "C" will only open a completely
EMPTY compose window. This could also be improved upon. IMHO. It would be
better if it returned you to the last message if one had been in process.

Hmmmm ? Is it correct now ? <G>
