This matter of screen resolution interests me. I have a friend
with a 286 AT and want to upgrade to an EGA monitor and am looking for
a mail program and/or OS upgrade that would be compatible with the
combination of Arachne's Core.exe and Insight. Will this run on a
machine with 640k conventional and 3+ Megs extended? Nice to know
if we can save the old "battleship" of a computer for a while....

Why do you want to upgrade to EGA monitor and not VGA? Where would you find an
EGA monitor? Even in 1990, VGA, costing no more to produce than EGA, had
already superseded EGA, and users who wanted something cheaper went with CGA or
monochrome with Hercules graphics. I went with VGA, so much easier on the eyes
than monochrome or CGA. Regular VGA monitors, as opposed to SVGA, ought to be
plenty cheap now, used, just as used 486 computers sell for practically nothing.
