My sentiments exactly. I suggest all those who use Internet Exploder visit
the site www.intermute.com This is a product that filters out all of the
annoyances such as js, animated gif's, backgrounds, ADS, and the like.
Highly configurable too. I was so pleased with it that I bought the
registered version.
Look people, Arachne is a damn fine feat of programming, and I get a little
tired of listening to the rants and moans that come up too often. But
realize this: there is no future for a dos based web browser other than
being a geek toy. IMHO, if Arachne is to have any commercial future, it is
with Linux. I just threw away a half dozen 286 and 386 computers from my
buisness this year. Even the local charities will not accept anything less
than a 166 mhz machine with 16 mb ram. I saved the best 386 box left from
work and it now is reincarnated as my fax machine with Bj Fax for Dos.
Anyone know if a 386 dos box can support a scanner? I know not to ask the
guys at Staples this question because they look at you like you are some
kind of Neanderthal throwback when you ask them about Dos issues.
