Reuben,
Probably the first thing for you to do is to post your ARACHNE.CFG file,
first making sure that you have X'd out everywhere your password appears.
Also, tell us what kind of machine you are using.
Since you have once connected, you do not have a "port problem" (which you
will probably hear about in some later posts).
When you changed to FASTPC.ACF, did you re-enter all your configurations from
the previous ARACHNE.CFG? (Selecting another profile overwrites ARACHNE.CFG,
so if you didn't copy ARACHNE.CFG to, say, SPEED.ACF, you might have
destroyed your .CFG file.) Do you use the terminal to dial or use a script?
Somehow, someone, somewhere will get you back online. Although your
questions may have been answered previously, if you weren't around, as far as
you are concerned, they weren't asked.

what do I do with the above error ('PPP down, driver not loaded')? I've
successfully installed DOS (MS- 6.22) and Arachne 1.61, and an external OR
internal modem set on com2/IRQ3. It dials successfully every time, but
'hangs' and won't browse.
I actually DID get it to surf (quite fun! except I apparently can't
read my Hotmail...) a couple times, but I changed to the 'fastpc.acf'
profile, and now no matter WHAT I change, I can't get Arachne to take
advantage of the established connection. What am I forgetting?
thanks!<<
