That "Login:" prompt deceives you into thinking the ISP is looking for a
BBS-style login when they are really looking for PAP. My ISP is that way.

You might be able to do email and news on a 286 or possibly even 8086 with
UKA_PPP, maybe also Minuet. It is useful to have a separate dialer, EPPPD and
