That's what a FAQ is for (atleast noone asks how you pronounce Arachne
anymore <g>).

The problem with this is that AFAIK there's no (freeware) driver that
handles both PS/2 and com-port mice (I'll write one for Arachne - it
shouldn't be that hard). However as L.D (IIRC) said it can't autodetect
where the mouse is (on com-port) so I need to figure that one out first.

I "only" slimmed down ctmouse with 1.7K, but I'm quite busy right now with
tests - don't expect that I'll finish it until after two weeks. (For 1.63
then perhaps)

Add ctmss.com and ctmsps.com for now (http://bernie.arachne.cz/ctmouse/)
(no support for text-mode but Arachne doesn't need that). I've made a
better (ie. smaller) one that works with Arachne as well. It uses 2912
bytes in PS/2 mode IIRC. An Arachne specific version will be even smaller,
however it currently gives *major* graphical problems with QPV. It's
untested in com-port mode so far but I doubt it can give any (more)
problems. Since I don't know the timetable for 1.62 alfa (since you've
visited browserwatch with it it's almost finished right?) I don't think
I'll have time to upload them (I can send them to you directly if you
really want them Michael). (Whatever you do please do NOT add the
"documentation" that's there).

1. As I've already suggested don't put error messages in the cache (add
<ARACHNE NOCACHE> to the error files and to the errors printed by the other
programs) since this will confuse the user.
2. Testing to see if the temp (or arachnetemp) directory is set and is in a
format that Arachne likes ("drive:\directory") would be a nice addition to
the setup program. (No more "can't create inbox" mails).
3. Add that it might be a missing cache directory that makes Arachne unable
to connect (Or perhaps I'm the only one that's stupid enough to remove the
cache with deltree and forget to make the directory afterwards? <BG>)
4. If the installation program would stop and tell the user that file was
corrupt we wouldn't have any more mails about "missing toolbar.tb".
5. Tell the users that you'll add a new feature for [feature seen in some
other Internet programs that we often see complaints about on the list] in
Arachne no matter how much they complain - that should reduce the amount of
messages (I hope you know what the feature I'm refering to is Michael - I
don't dare tell the list about it myself since people most likely will
start complain about it directly <G>)
6. (And unrelated to Arachne). If you can fix so that my default rights on
my own files on arachne.cz makes forwarding of mail (as well as sending
mail) and other things (compilation for instance) to work I'll not mail and
complain about it at every chance I get ;-) (ftp would also be interesting
to have but I can live without it for now)
