That wasn't a relevant testing method.
Uncompress a ZIP file and compress it with RAR and see which is smaller (or
the other way around) - in most cases (I don't dare say all) the RAR file
will be smaller than the ZIP file was (assuming maximum compression and a
solid RAR archive is used of course).

Sadly this is true - not many servers are set up correctly.
