Is it a leak, or is it outright theft? <G>

I'm online before the page with 124 in the green; before I load the
graphics on the page [page fully loaded] I'm still at 124. After the
graphics come down and the page complete [not virtual page] I'm missing
21K and sitting at 103. And you are right -- there is no recovery after
leaving the page. [So many of the lost chains I've cleaned up have been
gif files ... wonder if the two problems are connected?

This page was initially loaded as non-virtual no graphics; no memory
loss. I then loaded in images one at a time; no memory loss. Top to
bottom to top to bottom, no memory loss. [This loaded too fast for me
to try it while loading]
I then reconfigures for virtual screen 25000 [no, not typo] and in-line
images. Again, no memory loss even doing home/end.
This one is apparently machine/system dependent??

After the first page and starting response, I shelled out to check
something and when I returned I had my full 124 again. Since the 2nd
page didn't take me to red -- didn't even affect memory -- I don't know
if it would have returned memory via shelling out.
However, I have had instances where I've been in the red and shelling
out *has* returned some memory to me. In other cases I've been in the
red and simply changed pages and got my memory back.
Wish we could find out what's causing this piddling little leak. <G>
