FWIW: Until 18 months ago, I used an old Epsom LX-400 9-pin Dot Matrix
printer. Ribbons ARE STILL CHEAP compared to the HP Deskjet cartridges
(Ribbons: under $10, Cartridges around $70 Australian).
I used to get my ribbons re-inked by a local company. There was even
competition for my business, so I got them re-inked for about half the
price of a new one. The re-inked ribbons were very successful. :)
