There are no Windows programs that can be run in a "stand-alone" mode.
If you try to run a Windows program as a "stand-alone" application, you
will get the following error message:
"This program requires MicroSoft Windows"
The Windows version of EDIT.COM most likely either has the necessary
components of the QBASIC object code compiled into it, or it relies
on a DLL having the same object code. Either this or that, or maybe both.
