I cannot picture the problems you are reporting here....
Perhaps I have never used Arachne on a REAL muscle box... say a
100Mhz Pentium, or better.
Arachne "seems" pretty fast for me, on my Cyrix 486dlc 40Mhz with 32Mb
of ram, even when I run it straight from my HDD. This may be because
I have some really souped-up 2.5Gb Hard Drives, and they are real fast.
Run from the RAMDisk, it is really pretty fast. But, then, maybe I
just am ignorant - have no point for comparison.....<g>

hmmmm..I read this, and wondered...sooo....
I went offline, then hit F10, went to the drive on which I have my
mail directory(s), randomly went into one of my directories, and
clicked on any old .MES file.....POP, up it came, loaded into Insight
and looking pretty. I did this with different .MES files in different
directories, and they all popped right onto my screen properly loaded
into Insight and all.
So, I expect that some settings in your .CFG files are out of whack.
Hope this encourages you so that you can get this fixed...Must be
awfully irritating to have what you are reporting happen.
