There ought to be an easy way to bypass the wizards(?) for non-newbies. I'd
prefer a .ZIP over the .EXE file. But I never heard of GetnLoad, never found
it. How many .CFGs are there? I guess ARACHNE.CFG is the main one. Of course,
one needs to transfer user data or save it somewhere: downloads, bookmarks, mail
if one uses Arachne for POP3.
Wnat is the significance of the Profile statement, and the various .ACFs? My
computer was speed category 71 during Arachne installation, what is that
supposed to mean?
What is the best way to install APMs? Just keep a separate APM directory, type
arachne drive:\path\apm\*.apm
or if already in Arachne, file:drive\path\apm\*.apm ?
or in my case, file:f:\lynx28\download\*.apm ?
Then click and install one by one?
By the way, if Arachne 1.69 or its dialer doesn't like your modem, you can dial
up away from Arachne and put Connection READY in ARACHNE.CFG. Make sure of the
other ARACHNE.CFG settings so Arachne will know she's online.
