I haven't noticed any difference in the way TEXTAREA.TXT is written and
saved. Maybe I have failed to be sufficiently observant. What is the
difference in the way TEXTAREA.TXT works now?
I thought this thread had something to do with Arachne's not recognizing
some directory names that are named by using an extension. I must admit
that I haven't been following this discussion closely because I never use
such funny names for my directories anyway because I fear that this might
perplex some file manager utilities. The only directory I have that is
named funny is "C:\TEMP\ARACHNE.TMP", and it hasn't caused me any problems.
Now what is the matter with the way TEXTAREA.TXT works? It is OK to send to
me privately some previous posts on this subject. Maybe I might already be
too lost at this point to enter this discussion at this time.
