I'm going to reply first before I do any of what you suggest, because I
think it's wasted effort.
1. We already know that 1.66 can access the messages on the HDD in
question; I've tested that.
2. How a DOS command is handled should have absolutely nothing to do
with what other files might be within a subdirectory, as long as the is
room to write any necessary temporary files; since temp is being
handled -- in both 1.66 & 1.70r3 -- on the RAMdrive, drive space to
operate is not the problem.
However, I will pay the game and run the test. Just don't expect it to
prove anything worthwhile.
