This list discussed 6 or 8 months ago, the technique of
composing "mailing lists" as pure ASCII text files, with
each addressee on a separate line, terminated with a
carriage return ... etc.
Then, the entry in the To field or in the CC
field would be @FILE in which FILE is the
ASCII text file with all the people of your mailing list.
For many months I have used this technique, several
hundreds of times, with 80 or 90 different "FILE"
names as different lists of recipients.
Great system .....
For 2 weeks now, everytime I try to mail to one of those
80 or 90 "FILE"s Arachne says "syntax error".
Yet the 80 or 90 FILEs have not been changed or touched
in any way from the same FILEs which have been used
for many months ..... previously with no problem, no
"syntax error".
I have been using the Arachne 1.66 , on the same computer,
with the same modem, on the same phone line, to the
same ISP
What the heck is going on ..................
