  From
http://webopedia.internet.com/quick_ref/fileextensions.html

.pps Storyboard (Personal Producer)

It's .ppt which is PowerPoint, however it appears that
PowerPoint can also read (and create) .pps files)

I just opened Star Office, and it gives the options of
saving its presentations as either StarImpress or MS
PowerPoint (.ppt) files. No options for writing .pps.
However, I believe SO will read pps files.
