Hi List,
Until now i never encountered a POP3 mail download that stucked which I
had Arachne to blame for...
But yesterday the download was stuck again on a huge .pps file.
Number of mails: 48
Huge file = #14 (500kb)
First try: stuck at #14, partly downloaded (360kb)
Second try: all mail downloaded
But the first 13 messages were in the inbox twice so I had to delete
13 messages.
In Arachne cache #14 only contained 360kb... the succesfull download of
#14 (500kb) was not in the cache because the partly downloaded file was
already there.
So if the mail stucks... one has first to go to the inbox to delete all
(the 1st 14 messages) before a second try can safely be done.
It would be nice...
If a message is deleted at the server right after it has been
succesfully downloaded... instead of deleted after all the mail is
downloaded.
*** If that huge file would be number 48 and 3 trial are neccessary than
I had to kill 96 messages from the cache !!***
Only a sucesfull downloaded message should be send to the cache... not if
the download has been aborted.
Q1:
Is it possible to change this in Arachne?
Q2:
Does anuone know what a .pps file is/has to perform?
Q3:
What is the difference between "to kill" and "to delete" a file?
My English dictionary does not give the answer.
