FYI,

What we in America call Elk are big deer with spiked antlers.  What, or
so I saw on the Discover Channel <G> Europeans call "ELK" are what WE
call "moose," big with big feet and flat bladed antlers.

So, ELK or MOOSE, it's all correct depending upon where one lives.
