That may well be so, but they are still usable. Just open a Win3.1
graphic program and "paste" into it. Then save the image as anything
you want. Even another bitmap.
All the images on my screenshots page of BBMAIL were collected as
"printscreen"s in Win3.1, then converted to GIF files -
see: http://homepages.valylink.net.au/~ausreg/bbmail/bbmail.htm
In Win3.1, the "printscreen" ONLY captures the active window, so one
can even run DOS progs in a visible window, sized to match the exact
image you want to capture, then capture just that.
