Et vous ? To Damir & ganlu, ~.xinitrc, I first try with that but scim would never show up (e16 & KDE). > | Don't you think that http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Scim should > | be completed with something like : > sure ... it0s a wiki, everybody can enhance it... Yeap but I'd rather give a hand (this thread) to the writer than write it by myself, as I've got not enough qualification yet to do something KISS. I'll do it in French ASAP. > don't set LC_ALL! LANG should be enough... LC_ALL is an override variable > for broken apps, that do not understand LANG and should be avoided, if > possible. the rest lloks fine Got it ! > | This would save time for newcomers that need or want to add > | Arabic/Chinese/Japanese/Korean/Thai/Russian/etc. input to their Arch > | box, but are not sure where to configure > > exactly! great you think about that! Yeap, KISS should be for non English speaker as well ! And especially in some area, see what HybridTheory wrote @ http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=13489 To ganlu, 你在bbs.archlinux.org写过的是很好呢!非常感谢:) > You can set the following environment not only in .bashrc, but .xinitrc > which I recommend, so you don't have to wait a while when you open a > terminal saying gnome-terminal. > And you have to set those in .profile when you are using XDM saying GDM > to login. Well I've got only ~.bashrc edited right now & use scim whenever i need in GTK apps, without waiting a second. Is what you say WM or term related ? Also could you develop the ~/.profile stuff a bit (could help me the day I have to help some of my Chinese friends getting in to Linux - all are glued to M$ :( ) Some Scim Configuration: ------------------------ Guys maybe you could add on which WM(s) you're using scim ? 1) Linux Java use this way: > > export LC_CTYPE="zh_CN.UTF-8" > export [EMAIL PROTECTED] > export GTK_IM_MODULE=scim > export G_FILENAME_ENCODING=GBK ##this is for file name in > export GST_ID3_TAG_ENCODING=GBK > export QT_IM_MODULE="scim" > scim -d 2) I only edit ~/.bashrc as following (works fine with GTK apps only) : #enable uft 8 export LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8 export LESSCHARSET=utf-8 # enable scim export [EMAIL PROTECTED] export GTK_IM_MODULE="scim" Despite beeing absent from my conf files, scim is launched at X start (e16) -- 再见/Salutations, kozaki.dev [~] > Arch, Mandrake~iva x86_64 & Ubuntu Linux ------- \ ^__^ \ (oo)\_______ (__)\ )\/\ ||----w | || || Et puis Linux, c'est bien sympa, mais la personne qui pleure quand ce qu'il faut faire est plus compliqué que double cliquer sur une icone, elle fait comment ?
