I have the same effects with that the permissions are okay in /dev/bus/usb but
not in /proc/bus/usb. But my Canon A520 works perfect with the older version
of libgphoto (2.1.6) and digikam so i never have had a look at the
permissions.-)

I do the same way as you with the only difference that i reboot the pc after
upgrading to the older version of libgphoto. After this i have no problems in
digikam. I don't know if this makes a difference.
