Friends i feel sorry to say this. CHord please stop as you said you know lot
about INDIAN MUSIC. be realistic & true to yourself. are you for raghuman
or for yourself just to do more posts & over do. by limited writing you
wont lose importance. It looks pity. by over & over highlighting on same
things you want to see posts-like from ricky pc speak for other mds &
finally tapey falling into ilayaraja groove. Chord you are the one coming with
music by other mds & as part of music lovers universally no one will deny
if you wanna speak on other mds.

My mom
who is singing for Bharata Natyam performances asking this guy Chord to
elaborate on beautiful Padams & Javalis please, as he claimed, know
lot about Indian Music ? She is laughing at this guy of suddenly putting
raghuman in high spirits as no other person in indian music & another day
he bbrings in many recommendations for some old & new music of other mds he
finds special in it only to insist not in raghumans. To keep on insisting, this
is it, this is
not, with their [know lot about INDIAN MUSIC attitude] shows
only immaturity with lack of exposure on INDIAN MUSIC BLENDED WITH CULTURES. if
you want to claim anything kindly add [to my limited knowledge on hindi music
& genres].

human minds are in sick arrangement when
it finds something new & irresistible it is ready to throw other
things without realizing its existed value be it music or be crazy writing
to forums to gain importance only to be seen obsessed.
if i listen to certain composers, in certain languages & certain
genres, i cannot put views in public with a bold claim [i know
lot about INDIAN MUSIC & this is it], to my limited exposure. both
old & new worlds music has provided us gems with various musicians
in many genres.

dear friend for dance performances she used to give a mix of some nice
hindi bhajans, marati
abhangs, telugu kirtans, kannada dasar padams, viruttams in sanskrit shlokas
with tamil padams & thillanas. it just not applies to her but to any vocal
support singer for dance performances. My mom is a fan of sdburman, rdburmani,
mohd rafi, mukesh, lata mangeshkar, Kishori Amonkar, begum parveen
sultana, pt.Jasraj, Bhimsen
Joshi, jagjit singh, anup jalota, ghulam ali, G.N.Balasubramaniam, M.L.Vasantha
Kumari, K.V.Mahadevan, M.S.V., Maragathamani, TMS, suseela, p.leela, spb,
janaki, p.b.s., jesudas &
ofcourse AR & Ilayaraja & many more of singers & composers &
musicians that consume my time.

She will find
the ragas & taal in Michael Jacksons music & rhythms. She is a fan of
beetles. She wont miss the news related to grammy awards. She will list out the
ragas & their bhava family they belong from the mind blowing orchestrations
& bgms in hollywood movies. Two americans are students to my mom
learning how to vocal support for this classical form of art. Chord you dont
have any other work & idling here only to create record on posts with ill
intentions & not on facts.

Coming to limitations on another claim, tastes are changing to trends &
generations. before raghuman era people were definitely enjoying raja's
brilliance. Non-tamil fans who dont know about good & the best songs of
other tamil mds cannot understand these facts sadly & for their limited
exposure on richer side of tamil music on traditional, classical & by
films. Raja may
not be interested to learn urdu & hindi to jump into bollywood to try
there. Raja just for a decade now stands 2nd to raghuman in creativity. I would
ask why heros from various states dont try their luck in bollywood. Why
even Kamal & Rajini could not find a constant place in bollywood with their
talents. It is difficult business-wise considering the style of living,
language & what the society demand in films in that culture at that
time.

May be ilayaraja is satisfied with what he does at the period when
raghuman is very junior & not in action. Raja is contented with the
money & entertaining tamil fans as far as possible. I believe even
if raja gets more hindi films he wont deviate or cheat tamil fans from
giving best music also to tamil films at later stages in a way of
thanking the soil & his first fans which is not in the case of
raghuman. Like this guy Chord is sick of putting posts thinking himself
as the best critic who learnt all forms of Indian Music, Raghuman is
sick after money forgetting his good old tamil fans who want to listen
to some best tunes even for that few tamil films he is working in.
when fans claim Raja could not do what raghuman did in bollywood they forgot,
what fans & critics in north claim as the famous A to Z of bollywood
composers, why such bollywood composers could not step into Hollywood ? Or why
the 60s, 70s & 80s of bollywood tunes could not impress any westerners to
use them in Hollywood movies ? Or is it possible for them to give some soul
stirring music in south indian films. Let them find a place 2nd to
raghuman. But who is
interested from there to do music down south even they are offered with the
best deal ? Most of
them won't be interested by their basic life-style, preference & also due
to limited
knowledge on culture & language. Those so-called ace bollywood
composers were in a situation of could not even dream to take their tunes to
Hollywood movies or to win internationally. Himesh is a rare case slipped into
dasavataram which is not soul stirring. Ilayaraja will do more justice
to dasavataram.
Let us see how raghuman is going to be successful in hollywood movies as
main composer? It is not that easy to satisfy that audience. He is
going to reach 20th year & he finds hard with this creativity to stamp
in hollywood. He cannot easily get into that sort of music. Just for
his bits n pieces used there he has not reached the peak in hwd. Fans
claim Raja could not do what raghuman did. but fans forgot the famous old &
new bollywood composers also could not do what raghuman doing now. 1
out of
100 will stand out.

There is a constant change. This is raghuman era of
music regard to films. After raghumans retirement someone will be
popular ! Friends just because your music knowledge is limited upto that you
tend to omit the certain facts & become partial. Try to be balanced, be
truthful before coming to post about musicians & music. There are people
for every good music & every talented musician means there are many good
music & many talented musicians as far as INDIA is concerned.

It is Limited to Film music about Raghuman, the only one in whole india to make
west have keen interest not just to listen, to use & perform his tunes only
for a decade now. If you take great musicians from Carnatic & hindustani
genres they are winning their part for many decades performing & spreading
its popularity in the West without announcements & from where many
westerners are interested on our culture & learning these genres. Most
people who are listening only film music are not aware of these things as other
genres are out of glamour world. As a music lover in broader sense, i am for
raghuman when bollywood music fans & critics want to pull him down, i am
for ilayaraja when it is kollywood for raghuman failed to maintain standards
here & i will speak for the best ever valued traditional genres (carnatic
& hindustani) when film music lovers ignore them without knowing its
values. i give due respect to all INDIAN FILM
Composers & all INDIAN MUSICIANS who perform for different genres. VIC.

Don't make such assumptions. I know a lot about Indian music. None of these
composers have the range and versatility of ARR and have used these instruments
in the specific way ARR has. Of course, many have used solo instruments, but
ARR's specialty relies not just in the fact that he uses them, but how he uses
them.

Kalyanji's 'been' in Nagin, R.D.Burman using harmonica in Aradhana, Jatin Lalit
using piano in Pehla Nasha, Vishal using guitar in Satya, Anu Malik using
violin in Baazigar, Shiv Hari using Santoor and flute in Chandni, ....gosh the
