I am glad we are having a civilized discussion here on the group despite having
major differences of opinion on the sound quality.

Wired Beats - Before I address your opinion let me chime in that I really enjoy
your remixes and have downloaded all of them and made them an integral part of
my ARR collection. I like the way you treat the tracks with respect and care
and embellish them without disturbing the essence or the soul of the tracks.

While loudness war has been debated previously too on this forum, I am thinking
we are barking at the wrong tree . What some of the folks like Gomzy and Arun
Kumar have been complaining is that the tracks sound mangled or cluttered and
that's the precise issue I am having trouble getting  my arms around. To me
it's the opposite. Despite having several tracks of instruments/sounds I am
able to listen to all them very clearly. Using a Video term, I'd rate the
resolution of the soundtrack very high (HD 1080p :-) :-)) . And comparison with
Dil Se may not be appropriate given the acoustic nature of that album with far
fewer layers as opposed to very technoish/multi dimensional sound of Blue.

But I do respect the diametrically opposite viewpoint and in trying to
reconcile the opinions I can think of a couple of reasons:

1) Unless all of us are using Studio Monitors, we are not on a level playing
field here. I am not talking about expensive vs cheap equipment but rather the
distinct sonic reproductive traits of amplifiers/speakers.

The same CD sounds differently to me when I listen to it on my Definitve
Technology Bipolar speakers (boomy, rich in bass) as opposed to my JBL's which
are a lot brighter and I am not even throwing the receivers into the mix here.
I have done all my Blue listening on my ipod and car stereo and I find the
sound extremely crisp and vibrant without sounding shrill.

I am assuming that your equipment for some reason is not a perfect sonic match
to the sound created for Blue.

2) It also might simply boil down to something as simple as personal taste. I
am probably liking what I am hearing and you guys are not (from a pure sound
pesrpective)

It would be helpful if someone can pinpoint the exact selections from the album
that sound jammed/muddled to you to help me better understand where you are
coming from and no Chiggy Wiggy doesn't count given the intrinsic rhytm heavy
nature of the track :-) :-)

The density of arrangements of sound and instruments is high and the sonic
texture is bright and loud, but I don't find the overall sound cluttered and
jammed....I can clearly distinguish each track separately and distinctly.
Rahman added a lot of layers to the songs, and due to the combination of
density, loudness, and brightness, some here are finding that to be too
overwhelming I guess.

In any case, I hope that does not diminish people's enjoyment of the songs
themselves, which are awesome to me.
