Sometimes I use Owner on the field Change History tab. Usually this is Demo or a Remedy user name. Unless someone has a lot of extra time on their hands to change the Owner name this is Login id of the person who added the field. I have found that this will help identify reserved fields that have been added.

I do have a group of fields in the "customer range" that I can look at. At least it will get me on the right track.
