** Dear Shafqat,
I am sure you have but just to verify I believe you have set the reporting server on the User tool. What frank is pointing out is the only way to get a date range report with remedy and crystal. You sort the value with remedy and make sure that only the records with the specified date range are passed to crystal. Once crystal receives the records you can use the Minimum and the Maximum functions on crystal to display the exact date range on the report. Hope this helps.

Or, have the report be a sub-report of a blank report pulling data such as all active Groups from the group form, but hide the group data.  Then you can actually have Crystal control the query criteria and print data entered.

Thanks Frank and Dwayne, that works!

Is there any way to print the parameters on the report? for example what i would like to do is have the report run from a start date and a end date plus the Assigned To, I have got the report to run, I can have the Assigned To name in the report as it is a report field, is there any way to print the Start Date and End Date without doing a double prompt? what I mean is that I am entering these on a form and passing them to the report, but obviously the dates don't get passed, if I put a prompt field, then Crystal comes up with a dialog box and then puts the dates in.
The other problem I am having is that if I put the report in the Report form it does not run, if I embed it then it runs fine, but intermittantly when i press the button nothing happens, I have to close the user tool and re-open and then on the 2nd or 3rd try it works.
Thanks once again, I really appreciate your help

** Remedy is basically passing Crystal a Record Set of data. You can prompt for a Crustal parameter and use it in the Selection criteria, however, it won't alter the result set. As mentioned in the last post, try and produce the desired set of data from Remedy first. Or, you can prompt for a parameter, but instead of using it in the Selection criteria of the report you could use it in Suppressing\Showing Detail sections that meet your criteria. I would opt for producing the correct record set from the User tool.

Hi Shafqat,

Try working your selection into the Qualification of the Open
Window action of the Active Link, eg:

'Assigned To' = $Assigned To$

The second "$Assigned To$" refers to the field on the local
form, and can be some other field besides "Assigned To".
