Do you have Skype/Lync application? Try opening a browser and put in the URL
the SIP:emailaddress (No Slashes, that was a typo in my earlier response)

Sip (being a protocol like FTP) have MIME associations for them, so the
standard browser will associate the SIP to call the Lync (or Skype) application
and use the app as normal.

Hello Fred,

I was interested in your comment where you said you can launch a chat window
with Skype/Lync using SIP://emailaddress. However, when I reached out to my
exchange team that supports our Skype/Lync platform, they weren't aware of this
capability and aren't sure how it can be done. Can you provide a little more
information on this?

Thanks!
Jamie
