Yes you will need to upgrade mid-tier AND ARS from 6.1 to 6.3. Based on feedback I received from BMC, it doesn't sound like, at least to me, that they have actually tested a scenario in where one does not upgrade from 6.1 to 6.3. In the technical bulleting I read, "...could potentially affect" so this didn't leave me with a warm fuzzy. We are in the same boat and will need to patch/upgrade mid-tier, ARS, email engine, and flashboards....weeee!
