I did an upgrade last night from ARServer 6.3 to 7.1 (patch 1). One problem I
didn't anticipate was the 7.1 upgrade updates the User form and puts a unique
index on the Login Name field. Unfortunately we had a few duplicates which I
had to clean up. If you think you might have duplicate Login Names in the User
form you should clean up the duplicates before performing the upgrade.

The second problem we had was syncing passwords between Mid-Tier and the
ARServer. If you update the password on Mid-Tier for the particular ARServer
you will need to recycle the servlet exec before the change will take affect.
Likewise a change of the password on the ARServer side will require a restart
in the service.

Otherwise the upgrade went smooth. Also, I'm running all custom applications -
nothing out of the box.

Hey Rick-

We were on 6, but due to heavy
customization we went with a fresh install of 7.1 and are going to stay as OOTB
as possible. Hopefully that should be a pretty smooth upgrade. We’re
going to give it a try tomorrow, so I’ll let you know how it goes!

Chris, I'm gearing up to do the same upgrade on the same
platform. Let us know of any gotchas, will ya? What are you
upgrading from?

Hey Chris...

The same spot where you got the patch - there are readme download

files. These files contain the installation instructions.

I am getting ready to run the patches this week.
