You moved the xx/tomcat/webapps/ars folder to xx/tomcat/webapps/ars63p20
??

Tomcat tries to mount all directories under webapps. This has caused me
problems since classes have the same name. What I do is create a backup
folder xx/tomcat/backup-webapps and put my old mid-tier directory there.

Shutdown tomcat, and move the ars63p20 out from under webapps and see if
you have the same problems

Subject: Tomcat and MidTier 7.1

Installed MidTier 7.1 p2 on a LINUX server that was running 6.3p20.
Before the install I shutdown TomCat andmoved the current install folder
(called ars) to ars63p20. This way I could revert back. I installed
version 7 into the ars folder. Installation work without any errors. I
then started up TomCat and went to
https://servername/ars/shared/config/config.jsp. I received the Config
page and displayed the following: Version 7.1.00 Patch 002 200801270500.
So far so good.

Now, the issue is when I try and login I get the following errors from
TomCat:

type Exception report

message

description The server encountered an internal error () that prevented
it from fulfilling this request.

exception

javax.servlet.ServletException: Servlet execution threw an exception

root cause

java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: CCPUtilApp
        com.bmc.arsys.util.ARUtilEgcp.CCPUtilApp(Native Method)
        com.remedy.arsys.config.Configuration.login(Unknown Source)
        com.remedy.arsys.config.ConfigServlet.login(Unknown Source)
        com.remedy.arsys.config.ConfigServlet.doLogin(Unknown Source)
        com.remedy.arsys.config.ConfigServlet.performOperation(Unknown
Source)
        com.remedy.arsys.config.ConfigServlet.doRequest(Unknown Source)
        com.remedy.arsys.config.ConfigServlet.postInternal(Unknown
Source)
        com.remedy.arsys.config.ConfigServlet.doPost(Unknown Source)
        javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:709)
        javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:802)

The only difference is the new version 7 install. Everything else has
remained the same. This is pretty much the same procedure used in the
past with no issues.

Any thoughts?

Frank
