Each set of version combinations is a bit different in its quirks, so I'll
leave that to Support or to someone who's in the middle of the same thing
right now.  You didn't mention specific version/patch info, but I would take
whatever you plan to use and run that combo past support to see if they know
of any gotchas.

One thing you might do is a DB backup after each stage (i.e. AR install,
CMDB install...), so that if the next stage gets hosed, it's easier to
restart.
