More details are in the manuals regarding this subject...but basically, the
fields you specify are ordered by their xy coordinates left to right, top to
bottom in a z pattern, not taking page holders into affect.  If you want a
bit more control over it you can create a view named something very specific
(check the docs) that includes only the fields you want, in the vertical
order you want them in.  Or you could do as suggested in another post....do
it via html template instead.

I'm currently on Version 6.3 with a SQL database.  Is there a way to control
how the email notifications are formated?  When you include specific fields
you want to send in the notifications.  Can you control the order of those
fields?  If so how?
