Joe, are you talking about the options in the alert tool, because they have been set on the client machines to enable alerts and also the flash icon is set and also won't alert them,

I am talking about the Alert tool preferences that can be set to either enable or disable a pop-up. My guess is probably that your laptops and desktops are being built from two different images both of which have different sets of preferences stored in their respective images. When you log into the Alert tool, check the tool preferences..
