So long as you have your mid-tier installed and the ARS Server that you want to use this web service off configured for use on that mid- tier server, you are good to go.. you can test the web service by replacing the <mid-tier> string in the URL of the web service when you open the web service with the mid tier server name and port if applicable and hitting load to see if you can see the xml schema..
