If the license key was a problem the server would have complained about it
right off the bat while installing the license, unless the NIC card later was
changed thus invalidating the server license.. Besides since both the DSO and
the Server license depend on the hostid pre version 7.1 days.. So if against
the same hostid if the DSO license was invalid, the ARS Server license would
have been invalid too and you would be having bigger issues than just a DSO
problem..

About arsignal, if you want to see all the available options, type arsignal /?
on the command line. However it doesn't explain in details all the options. I
think its documented in better details in the Administration guide..

Not after the hell I just survived.
Server group says the License key must be the problem and License Team says it
must be the server.

None of them offered the arsignal -l switch

Thanks again Joe.

There is a -d switch to use on arsignal to send a signal to the DSO process but
I'm not quite sure if that will help you building the form? Care to find out?

Thanks Joe.
That at least that let me re-import the copy of the arsystem.lic file.
I was on the phone with support and they had me remove the DSO line from
arsystem.lic and it bombed everything.
At least I had a copy of the file with all of the license keys in it.
Thanks,

Try running arsignal -l to re-read the licenses. I cannot guarantee you that
this would do the necessary to create that form as I am not sure at what stage
the AR server creates the form during the server restart after a DSO license is
applied.. But you could give the arsginal command to re-read the licenses a
shot without impacting your users that are online..

Joe and Tony,

Now that I have the problem I am hesitant to restart anything.
I have people already logged in who can continue to work and I don't want to
loose that ability.

Isn't the distributed pool form automatically created on a AR Server after
restarting it when a DSO license is applied to a server?

Subject: Installing DSO License key has locked users out of ARSystem.

Hello Listers,

ARS 6.3 Patch 14
MS SQL 2000
Windows 2000

I just added a DSO License key to my production server and every user who has
tried to log in is rejected.
The error message is:

ARERR [3129] No Distributed Pool form could be found on the server user:
jreiser, server: mtn-hotline
ARERR [3129] No Distributed Pool form could be found on the server
ARERR [3109] No Distributed Pending form could be found on the server user:
jreiser, server: mtn-hotline
ARERR [3129] No Distributed Pool form could be found on the server
ARERR [3109] No Distributed Pending form could be found on the server
ARERR [3107] No Distributed Mapping form could be found on the server user:
jreiser, server: mtn-hotline
Cannot login to mtn-hotline as a preference server. user: jreiser, server:
mtn-hotline
I can not get back into the admin tool to remove the key.
I have a call into BMC as critical but we have not received a fix yet.
I was going to remove the line from the arsystem.lic file for the DSO key but
there is a signature entry at the end of the file and I don't know if it is a
check-sum or not.
If you are in the system you can still work. If you try to log in you get the
above error message.

Any ideas?
TIA<
