Hi Brian,

Have you got the program C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects
Enterprise 11\win32_x86\plugins\desktop\CrystalEnterprise.Report\ReportAdd.exe

installed at the location specified? In my case we had BO installed on the D
drive so it didn't work and threw the same error you have (from memory). I
merely copied this program from the location it was installed in and the other
files in the same directory to the specified directory on C. This fixed the
issue.

I suspect that the integration is hard coded with the default install location.
I couldn't find anywhere that I could change this so had to use the workaround
above.

Rod

Joe or anyone out there have you ever seen BO 11.5 work with MidTier 7.1. BO is
installed on another server and we are using New Atlanta/IIS and Win Server
2003 on both the Mid Tier and BO servers. Also BO is installed on the D drive
which seems to be a problem for some reason. When I try to load the report I
get this error message:
Failed to process the request!!

An unexpected error has occurred

com.crystaldecisions.sdk.exception.SDKException$Unexpected: An unexpected error
has occurred cause:java.io.IOException: CreateProcess: "C:\Program
Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise
11\win32_x86\plugins\desktop\CrystalEnterprise.Report\ReportAdd.exe" -report
"C:\Program Files\AR
System\ARWebReportViewer\reports\m11c23c11b16\OqdA9Kl2hz53hSWkwCADuwPGOU\POReport.rpt"
-newrpt -discard -version 1100 -thumbnail -outfile -token [EMAIL
PROTECTED]@_E\TAgWDIea^H87O`75[=9GW<:5jL;kR95PS7WVmI\H_hUei31jJSkfHMQSdmS533nSamCPhlDSdmS533nSamCPhlD</h3"

Business Objects is not installed on the directory that the error message
points to and we have BO 11.5 not 11.0. I actually copied the Reportadd.exe and
it's two DLLs to a dummy folder I created on the C drive and now the report
will render. If I try to print the report I get an error mesage: An error has
occurred on the server. Would you like to view the error information? If I
click OK another copy of the report loads but this time the BO icons along the
top of the screen do not render.

Anyone have any ideas? BMC is saying it is a BO bug and wants to close the
ticket and my BO techs here are saying that BMC must fix it. I hate being stuck
in the middle.

Brian

Tomcat can be used either as a servelet against another web server like apache
or IIS, etc or as a standalone ie performing the function of a web server as
well as the servelet engine..

Find out from your web team how that is setup..

This server was setup by the Business Objects staff and I have never used
Tomcat before so I am not quite sure. The service that is running is Apache
Tomcat 5.0.27 if that helps. Is it possible there is no servlet engine?

Are you using Tomcat as a servelet or as a web server?

Hi Joe,

I just checked the server and the local internet guest account has permissions
to the Mid Tier folders. I do not know Tomcat at all so I am flying blind here.
The web server is running but the arwebreportviewer will not load.

Brian,

I'm asking the obvious - have you checked the permissions to the newly
installed BO11 files if these could be read/executed by the user that runs
Tomcat?

OK after spending some time finally getting Crystal 10 to work with Remedy I
was told that they are upgrading to Business Objects 11 Enterprise on a new
server. Back to square 1. I installed the ARWebReportViewer but the config
screen will not load. I just get the generic blank page can not be displayed
message. Tomcat is already installed on the server and the service is running.
It is under the BO directory. The midtier installer did not find it during the
install so I had to point it to Tomcat. Anyone have anything I can check? This
is Midtier 7.1 on Windows server 2003.
