I think prudence would call for one or more of these in future responses:

1)  A response from someone who can speak for Turing.
2)  Responses that are more than rumors.  Rumors can cause damage to
relationships of all kinds, and it would be unfortunate if Turing's were
damaged for false reasons.  If you don't have evidence to back up your
rumor, prudence would dictate keeping it to yourself.
3)  Not assuming something bad about Turing unless and until evidence
appears to support those assumptions.
