I think I may have found the problem, but I don't remember how to fix it :o(
If I launch the arplugin from the DOS I get a JVM.dll missing error. But it is there in the java\bin\client folder. If I set the path when in DOS I do see D:\Program Files\CAC AR System>arplugin -m Action Request System(R) Plug-In Server Version 7.0.01 Patch 008 200805271830 Copyright (c) 2001 - 2006 BMC Software, Inc. All rights reserved. Loaded Web Services plugin properly So I am now guessing I need to add this to my system PATH... just don't remember how... Anyone? Based upon your other messages about no logfile being created - my base gut check is directory permissions then... if your remedy service is a 'run as' service account - the file / directory permissions could be wacked... One "command level try" is to comment out the arplugin.exe from armonitor - restart armonitor (remedy service) and then from command line try to startup the plugin server to check for console messages, etc. HTH On Tue, Sep 7, 2010 at 1:33 PM, <pascale.bo...@daimler.com> wrote: ** Robert, This is a 7.0.01 server. The Plugin logs don't even get written. So absolutely nothing. This is a new installation so no other webservice.dll anywhere else. as for Server-Plugin-Alias: ARSYS.ARF.WEBSERVICE ARSYS.ARF.WEBSERVICE <Servername>:<Portnumber> No we do not have that in our ar.conf. Never saw that one before. Is that required for 7.0.01? It would be suggested that you "check them all" to ensure that one is not hanging up the others... does the ar.crg file have: Server-Plugin-Alias: ARSYS.ARF.WEBSERVICE ARSYS.ARF.WEBSERVICE <Servername>:<Portnumber> Are there stray copies of WebService.dll laying around? For my 7.5+ systems there is not any entry as "Plugin: WebService.dll" in the config file - just the alias as mentioned above... Lastly - what does the plugin server log show? This is to allow us to upgrade to 7.5 "peacefully". We did a previous test on another server without any issues at all, but unfortunately, we have to give back that one. We are following the exact same procedure on this new box, but we are getting errors with the WebService and the plugin. According to our server team the new environment is exactly the same as the one used in our smoke tests... Taking their words on this at this point. And we do see the arplugin running in the tasks manager and we do have the WebService.dll installed too. This is the error we keep getting both when we launch the workflow that uses the webservices and in the arerror.log Even with the plug-in-server log activated and set to all, we do not have any logs being created. ***************** arerror.log: Tue Sep 07 12:24:38 2010 390695 : An error has occurred while loading a plug-in.
