Where is this setting?

Joe,

No. There is a server-wide setting that tells the server to ignore
all overlays and only use the base objects. However, as mentioned, it
therefore affects every user and every operation - so it cannot be used
to do what the original requestor was asking for.

The option was put in place for two primary use cases:

1. A developer wants to see how all the base objects /
functionality work together without any customizations / extensions
(i.e. without any overlays).

2. A developer has added customizations and extensions that have
caused the entire system to become unstable. The developer can choose
to turn off all overlays and use the system OOTB - without having to
restore a DB backup - until the overlay issues can be addressed.

You must be talking about the option of changing the mode of the
Development Studio from Best Practices to Base Development?

Liabt,

I recall finding an option that will put your entire server in 'base'
mode, and ignore all overlay/custom objects...but nothing that puts a
single user in that mode. (Overlay-mode)

Hi,

Is there a way to stop overlays from triggering in our Change Management
system during a request of one particular service (i.e. Facilities)
without affecting other parts of the CM application?
