Alan, I am not sure where your experience comes from.
However - Kinetic products are all API programs (heavy usage of API in fact) and BMC has allowed ALL the Kinetic products into On-Demand. So - that conflicts with your statement of: No customization No API BMC - does not let you "willy nilly" customize the system - but they do let you do modifications - you just need to have them validated.
