Also, if you open your form in the MT in a search mode, you should be able to see that field if it's a data field (not display only) if you enable the Advanced Search bar, in the field list. That is a more accurate test of whether or not the field is visible to the MT client. If its visible in that list and not visible on the form where you placed it, it's a display problem which you might want to correct whichever way you choose.
My favorite way is to take it out of view, save the form, refresh MT cache, then put it back in view, save form, and refresh MT cache again. Works everytime when I have a similar display related issue, be it visibility or if it is visible with some weird display properties.
