Dan I wish you could have been here when Duany was having his meetings here.
I remember at one point someone noting that all the parking to be built was for residents, and asked him why no parking for tourists was created under the plan. Duany couldn't have been clearer. He explained that this plan isn't for mass tourism as in the past. The lack of parking was by design, to make clear that this wasn't going to be a pure tourist draw. Between the residents, the weekenders and the Monmouth County day- trippers, we will fill the beach, boardwalk and stores just fine. I know you weren't here for that, but I can't understand why those who were pretend they didn't hear it. I don't understand their frustration every time Fishman does something that is contrarty to the old design of pure tourism. They act surprised. Why? The design of the plan has never been a secret. --- In [email protected], "dfsavgny" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > --- In [email protected], "bluebishop82" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > wrote: > > >What you need are sales and payroll taxes, etc. > > > > Rich residents and wealthy day-trippers will give us that.
