It is helpful in reading machine translations from Russian into English to remember 1) that the verb to be is often implicit in Russian, 2) that [an equivalent of] the passive voice and impersonal expressions are used more heavily in Russian than in English, and 3) that while the Russian use of plurals where English requires singulars and vice versa may strike anglophones as eccentric it is only different, systematically.
