I agree It would be possible for the Windows users, but makes it more complicated and harder to stay up to date if there is any vulnarabiltity in Windows Dig. There is no packet management for Linux tools under Windows. And as ASSP should better run as an unprivileged user in Windows, correct security settings would be much more complicated.
