I'm not sure of your reasoning unless it's only to stir up crap. Graziano is
charging for software
that makes use of ASSP code, most of which is code that Fritz has tweaked. I
seriously doubt if
Fritz would have asked for anything had Graziano used code prior to the 1.12
version or given it
away. But Graziano was using Fritz's work and charging for Fritz's work, while
coming out here
and wanting free help. Since Graziano is charging, there is an assumption that
he will deal with
any issues that arise out of the use of private betas, therefore the use of
private betas becomes
Graziano's problem.

On the other hand, the other guy is not charging, but is putting Fritz's work
out there, it could come
back to bother Fritz. He could get the reputation for releasing
not-ready-for-primetime code for
public consumption. It has obviously come to the attention of someone, so this
is a very real issue
in Fritz's mind, whether you agree or not.

My issue is that you appear to be trying to tarnish the reputation of someone
that has given much
to the community. Using language like 'shake down...for cash' is inflamatory
and suggests
something that, quite frankly, you or none of the rest of us has enough
information to suggest.

Do you REALLY want to get Fritz to the point where it's not worth spending any
more time on this
project? There comes a point of diminishing return and having motives attacked
brings people to
that point much sooner.
