You're 99% right. The only problem with out of office messages is when a
spammer uses your email as a return address for a spam run in august. 

But for normal operation all you need is to filter ndn from hosts non in
your ispip list, and all virus messages + false headers / false message-id
as http://www.postfix.org/BACKSCATTER_README.html suggests. Vacation
messages are not a huge problem but in august and during holydays.

So you can clean the list of subject I suggested removing vacation messages,
add forged headers/forged message-id regex, compile you ispip and filter
backscatter+spam notification+virus alerts without problems. Just hope no
spammer decides to use your email during xmas vacations.
